Superstition Mountains

This is the view of the Superstition Mountains from the visitor center at the head of The Apache Trail. The trail, which is actually a two lane road, leads up to Canyon Lake and Tortilla Flat, through impressive countryside. There are many places to pull off the road and take in the view: cliffs and buttes and canyons and three lakes. Please note, this is not a drive for the timid, past Tortilla Flat the trail becomes a one lane dirt road with treacherous drop offs and no guard rails to obscure the view.
