Fun In the Works

Inspired by visits to the ASU Art Museum Ceramics Research Center last February, I've been having fun constructing 3D art with paint and mat board.

Here are a few happy snaps of the work in progress. . .

When you're in Phoenix and want to see something original, go to the Ceramics Research Center, home to the absolutely most mind-bendingly unique art in the US.

If that's not wild enough, visit the  MIM - the Musical Instrument Museum. Be prepared to see and hear every kind of musical instrument that's ever existed on the planet. You may even get to play some of them.

Oh, and remember to arrive hungry. The cafeteria there is awesome.

Shooting Star Over Litchfield Jazz Fest

The music of Eddie Palmieri heats up the tent under a velvet sky, while the altos remind me of my father. My friend calls out. "Hey, a shooting star!"

Just a 5" x 7"quick sketch of the experience, acrylic on matte board.
