Good Morning Warmup 2

UncErtaiNty
A gelatinous soup of potential,
dimensionless fog of ambiguity,
ubiquitous ambivalence
distilled into two dimensions.

5"x8" watercolor is available from the artist

Ledger's Way to Walnut Hill Park

The view is of an entrance to Walnut Hill Park,
across from the hospital
in New Britain, Connecticut
in late January 2022.

This particular location was in disrepair,
but I preferred to depict it as I believe it can become
with a little care from the city.

This painting was shown in
the New Britain Museum of American Art

It is a 40"x 30" acrylic painting
on stretched canvas,
framed and wired for hanging.

Tribal Runes

The impulse to make
a mark
a stoke
a word
a sound
setting in motion
the vibration of a particle
a wave in the substance
giving form
to form to form to form to form. . .

This is a 11 3/4" x 9 3/4" pen and ink drawing
on acid-free watercolor paper,
preserved under glass,
it's hardwood frame is detailed
with delicate inlaid woods.

Green Question

Light and airy as contrails across the sky
what little plane?
who's warm hand?
made these graceful blue strokes
of cryptic writing
through watercolor greens
over sunrise yellow
under sunset orange
to finally land gently
before your loving eyes.

This is a 13 3/4" x 10 3/4" watercolor painting
framed in teak wood under glass,
signed and dated by the artist.

Song of the Didgeridoo

Playful lyrics twisting unexpectedly,
nuanced strokes
of colorful turns of phrase,
do we ever say what we really mean?
Or is it always
poetry
that describes the fluid reality,
the depths and currents
of where we swim?

Back in the studio after another long hiatus,
using watercolors and my favorite flowing organic forms
inspired by the music of the Del Sol Quartet
with Stephen Kent,
 Sculthorpe Complete String Quartets
with Didgeridoo.

This is 14 1/4: x 11 1/2" watercolor painting
framed with teak, under glass.

Coursera

Yet another diversion. . .trying out an online UI/UX course through Coursera, courtesy of CalArts. This is a mood board proposing an app called "Heart of the Belovéd", a technological tribute to Rumi.

Rose of Sharon

This is my artists meditation
on the Rose of Sharon and Painters Pallet
that grew in my Connecticut garden,

a flower from a Hong Kong Orchid Tree,

Pomegranates (the most Cubist of fruits),

and my sweet little "Bee Box",
a small ring box of turned wood
with a gold bee stamped on its lid.

These four original watercolor drawings are done on professional quality card stock, which has been folded into a 5" x 7" greeting card. The blank card, signed by the artist (yours truly) and matching envelope are available for sale through EBay.
