This is a 4" x 6" painting of a tree peony from the artist's garden. Handwritten on the back of the painting are her words:

This orange confetti tassel
skirted with lemon meringue flounces
is a precious gift of life
from a good friend I've never met.
Her generous spirit reappears
each spring briefly
buoyed on woody stems
nestled in emerald foliage
incredibly, eternally, ephemeral beauty.
