Listening to David Sedaris reading "Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim" while painting this.
This still life was inspired by Julian Merrow-Smith and his recent "Plums with blue-green background," painting which in turn reminded me of a short poem by William Carlos Williams:
This Is Just To Say | ||
by William Carlos Williams | ||
I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox and which you were probably saving for breakfast Forgive me they were delicious so sweet and so cold |
This painting is about 5.5 x 7.5 inches and is acrylic on gessoed mat board, protected in a cream colored mat. The text above is handwritten on the back of the painting, which is also signed and dated.
