This is a view of the Mesquite Trail trailhead in the White Tank Mountains, Arizona. There's been some rain in the past week, leaving the earth wet and the tanks full. The hike up the Mesquite trail was rigorous but well worth the effort for the views and unique sites. Painted between hikes, while vacationing here in Phoenix, this is a particularly challenging piece, having been created using only eight colors, as opposed to the thirty or so that I normally use. - Nancy Boudreau
Painted on January 12th, 2009. Check in again for more Arizona landscapes to come in the next two weeks.
This is an acrylic painting, 5" x 7" on gessoed hardboard, sealed with a clear gloss gel.
