These are the first tomatoes produced from my cottage garden this summer. Such a deep, juicy red, full of old-timey tomato flavor! I shouldn't have been surprised to find Webster's Unabridged Dictionary note that in the past, the word "tomato" has been used as slang for "prostitute."
