underground stream flowing
through dark rooms

where

someone vaguely familiar

in a party of strangers

seems a safe eddy
becomes a dead end
is a trap.

Gotta go
find the exit
feel the current

push down

out
up, up, up.

Rising free
eyes open 

to total blackness.
