Natural Discord

Painting while listening to RadioLab
and Youtube videos
the art becomes a distilled expression
of dynamics
common to seemingly disparate subjects.

Independent entities
attempting to occupy the same space
increase their surface tension
expending energy
to control chaos
through tenuous agreements
while
entities with discrete relationship
to dark matter
destabilize
employing entropy to dominate

Centering

Meandering sketchy pencil
lost and fumbling in a void,
wanders the page
investigating edges and crossing paths,
building experience,
building context.
Graviting above a foundation of edges
Centering

An original abstract painting in acrylic, done on 18" x 24" drawing paper, humbly offered to you by the artist, Nancy Boudreau.

Bounty

Remembering last year's bounty of produce from Shortt's, an organic farm located just down the road, here in Sandy Hook. Every Sunday afternoon from the end of June into November, I brought a half-share home and spread it out on the kitchen counter. Vegetables so lovely, lush, full of form and color, many photos were taken of them.

This is a 5" x 7" acrylic painting on cradled panel. Referring to one of last year's photos, the painting was completed in one long sitting, on yet another snowy spring Saturday. Eggplant, peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, cucumber, lettuce, and garlic: the ingredients for many good meals.

ESPOLON

Nothing like painting for a relaxing couple of hours, then sitting back and accessing the results while sipping on the still life. Limes and tequila, a great combination. Even better, is the artwork on the ESPOLON label. Check it out next time you're in the store.

This painting is a 5" x 7" acrylic on cradled panel.

That's Not What I Meant

The title describes the method. Painting begins with an effort to express my mood by using color and texture. As the paint dries, I see that what I've done does not aptly express my intentions. So I take another stab at it, add more color, more texture, and again that's not what I meant. I try again, and again. The painting builds until it finally speaks for itself, no longer needing my input.

This little ditty, is an acrylic painting on an Ampersand 5" x 7" basswood panel cradled with a 7/8" profile.

The auction on eBay will run for one week.
