While walking the fields, I came across a man and his dog. He could have been an old 'Nam vet: gray beard, short ponytail, tattered army jacket, jeans, cap and twisted cane. His dog was black and white, tall and lean, a mix of greyhound, wolfhound, deerhound, and border collie - a lurcher. I've never seen a dog so fast and graceful.
