Bobolink Territory

A path through one of the fields at Huntington State Park in Redding Connecticut, closed to traffic because of nesting Bobolinks. The great days of plein air painting are back, warm enough to comfortably paint outside in the open air. Oh, to be able to do this year-round! It is such a pleasure to spend hours contemplating the beauty of nature, spiritually reviving. - Nancy Boudreau

Mown Path along Bluebird Field

Huntington State Park on a Saturday afternoon in late May, a wide mown path along the edge of the first field. Bluebirds nest in the hedgerow, while bobolinks and redwing blackbirds hover over the field, dense with chest-high vegetation. Dog walkers, mountain bikers, hikers, people heading to the ponds to fish, equestrians with their horses stamping and whinnying - the park is lively. - Nancy Boudreau

Some Guy in the 70s. . . continued

Further work on "Some Guy In The 70's", softer color, more detailed portrait, the arms and leg positioning slightly altered. A few improvements, but are we done yet?

A detailed view of the face. . .

This painting is 18" x 24" acrylic on canvas with a matte surface, a commissioned portrait for a good friend of mine, the one and only original Rapscallion.

Some Guy in the 70s

Still struggling with "Some Guy in the 70's", the painting that just will not come around. Any suggestions? Are we there yet? Give up? - Nancy Boudreau
