Garden Baby Doll

Unearthed from beneath ages of compost,
humus ingrained innocence
in a cradle of emerald moss.
Cloth damp, colors leached.
Small ants : live colons :
harvest acid
from leaking triple AAAs.
My worn suede and canvas gloves
caress the found doll,
lost in this garden
by some child
so long ago.
Birdbath baptismal font
has been waiting
to wash away your soil of pathos
and welcome you back
into a woman's heart.

This is a 5" x 7" acrylic painting on cradled panel, of a doll I found in the garden last year.
