Pendleton Nature Blanket 1

This is the first Photoshop composite combining my love of Native American Pendleton Blankets, a personal library full of natural imagery, and the desire to gain facility with these powerful and magical tools of artistic expression.

In this series of "Pendleton Nature Blankets" natural textures from photographs substitute some of the solid colors. The organization of geometric forms symbolize the human need to make sense of wilderness, controlling it so that it becomes a comfort to wrap ourselves in.

Individual "Blankets" will be available as small prints on archival paper, which should look lovely as a grouped display. Contact me if you're interested in collecting them.

Afternoon with the Abstract Expressionists

Sketching again in a corner of the Yale University Art Gallery. One visitor remarked that I looked like part of the exhibit, wearing my colorful Coogi sweater.
