Whelk and Maple

Another painting inspired by Michael Whalen, somewhat of a fantasy still life. The shell, a symbol of the humble results of an artist's life, the flowering maple representing life's ephemeral beauty, and the two objects positioned to form a question mark as if to ask "why?".
